There was a lot of spectacle that took place during Sunday night's 2014 Billboard Music Awards, but perhaps no performance was as anticipated as the resurrection of Michael Jackson to perform XSCAPE track "Slave to the Rhythm." The song, originally recorded during MJ's Dangerous sessions, was reimagined for modern times by Timbaland. The funky track was the perfect one for an MJ hologram to perform on stage with an entire troupe of dancers as the Las Vegas crowd, which included Epic records honcho and XSCAPE mastermind L.A. Reid, watched. While the performance rocked the crowd and brought a bit of nostalgia for fans of Michael, it still paled in comparison to the real thing and emphasized just how much Michael is missed in the music world. But, for those of us still missing Michael's brand of magic, it was a nice to see him "take the stage" one last time.
