Track 2: “Faded”

Butta: Well, we know who produced this. O_O

D-Money: I’m so tired of that damn shout out. It automatically kills the mood of any song Mike WiLL Made It (Oh look, another ridiculous name!) has a hand in.

Butta: He also has a hand in Miley Cyrus (pause) and her rise, so I’m kinda cool on him.

D-Money: And then there’s that.

Butta: But with that said, “Faded” isn’t a bad song at all.

D-Money: It’s not bad, but it isn’t great either. Something about the production here just doesn’t do it for me. It’s a little…basic.

Butta: True. And coming off of the masterpiece that is “Cry.” it is a slight letdown. However, it is in line with a number of the songs on Me. I Am Mariah...Blah Blah Blah.

D-Money: True enough. And when she does finally get into it vocally, it definitely elevates the track. Too bad it ends just as it starts getting good.

Butta: YES! I was thinking the same thing. Mind you, the track is almost four minutes long, but it was getting into a groove and then BAM! it ended abruptly. I hate when that happens. But I digress.

D-Money: Maybe she considers ending a song just as it’s getting good being “elusive.” Which would pretty much explain the existence of Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel.
