Today is a big day for singer/songwriter Collette as she celebrates her birthday, the first anniversary of the release of her most recent album, Juneteenth Revolution, and the world premiere of her latest music video from that collection for the single "Never Told You." Collette describes "Never Told You" as "an ode to love lost, things unsaid and standing in truth," as she sings about a man who she let slip through her fingers because she never told him how she really felt. Sadly it's too late for these two to even give it a go because now he's married to someone else. Collette laments about all the feelings she had -- and still has -- and may have you in yours if you've ever been in a similar situation where you were too shy, scared or confused to reveal to someone the way you really felt about them and now you regret it.
The video directed by Barton Robison finds the statuesque beauty in various scenes -- walking across a desert landscape, writing in her journal and singing on stage. We see her loneliness play out on screen with the mystery man at the center of her heartache making a brief cameo at the end as she has no choice but to walk away. This is a beautiful visual treatment for this heart-breaker of a love song.
