Tank Feels Like A 'Star' In New Video

Tank YMS Still With new album Stronger due out August 17th, Tank must have thought it would be a good idea to try out some new sounds. See, while most listeners are familiar with lovey-dovey and bump-and-grind jams from the singer as a solo act or when teamed up with Ginuwine and Tyrese for the TGT project, few suspected he'd change lanes for "You're My Star." The track's throwback appeal — which tributes as much as it evolves elements of '60s and '70s soul — is heard in its blaring horns and is handclap-friendly. In the black-and-white video, Tank brings a Sammy Davis Jr. and Marvin Gaye-kind of cool while dressed to the nines and singing into a single microphone. But let's not forget the moves. With a bevy of beauties and b-boys as backup, the crew grooves to the upbeat melody, with Tank getting the occasional flirty feel from the female dancers. While not a dance floor king like Usher, Chris Brown or his contemporary Ginuwine, the crooner manages to not look too stiff, though his moves may not be as instinctive. Still, Tank's regularly flashed smile in the clip is convincing enough that he's having a blast with "You're My Star." With the help of his new video, we are, too.
