One thing is for certain, you can always count on Leela James to give you that honest to goodness soul sustenance, and with her latest album, Fall For You (out now), she is piling on her brand of spirit-lifting soul in nourishing heaps. We first feasted on her duet with Anthony Hamilton, "Say," and then went back for seconds on the lovely title track, but I'd advise you to save just a bit more room for a third sound helping as James teams with budding singer/songwriter Joe Ryan on newest single, "Save Me." The two of them work well off of each other, as they wax romantic over a plush mid-tempo beat that is just perfect for those lazy summer afternoons.
If you want more food for thought, James will make her debut as the latest member on TVOne's R&B Divas: LA, and if you were curious about how Ms. James' latest set was concocted (and how Leela will merge into the show's diva shenanigans) then you better put the kiddos to bed, turn your phone on silent and clear your schedule as the new season premieres tonight and will possibly answer all the questions you might have and then some.
