The Weeknd Proclaims Himself 'King Of The Fall'

Canadian export The Weeknd, who recently gifted us with the raunchy, slow-grinding "Often," is gearing up for a brief tour starting this September, which he's deemed the King of the Fall Tour. While tickets for the tour are on sale, he's decided to give fans some incentive to attend by releasing yet another teaser single appropriately named "King of the Fall." Of course, this being The Weeknd, the name is the only thing appropriate about it.

Working with a soundbed that'll be instantly familiar to anyone that's listened to any of his work (woozy synths, programmed drums and incessant hi-hat), Weeknd manages to write a song that talks about the ills of the world today and how we can make the world a better place. Just kidding. As per usual, he's all about the good times as he spouts explicit braggadocio about drugs, his money, fame and sexual prowess for a good five minutes. The particular highlight is at the track's end when he puts folks on notice that he'll make "alla dem swallow" for a good thirty seconds. Clearly, this one's just a wee bit self indulgent.

Still, I'm sure "King of the Fall" will find its place in the collections of many of The Weeknd's devoted fans, especially because the Toronto representer is offering this one up as a freebie. You can download it as you listen to the track below. And, if you're so inclined, you can purchase tickets to his King of the Fall jaunt, which will also feature ScHoolboy Q and Jhené Aiko, via Ticketmaster right now.
