This New Mi Casa & Ladysmith Black Mambazo Song Is Sweet Like 'Sugar'

The music of old and new South Africa collide on the latest song from Johannesburg-based house band Mi Casa. The trio enlists the help of the legendary a cappella group Ladysmith Black Mambazo on their latest song, "My Sugar." In this soulfully sweet tune, Mi Casa's lead vocalist J'Something gets a little vocal assistance from the harmonies of Ladysmith members, who are enjoying their own return to spotlight following a surprise appearance at this year's MTV Africa Music Awards.

Though Ladysmith Black Mambazo is best known for the traditional South African singing style of isicathamiya, the group takes on the more contemporary sound of house music thanks to the silky sounds of Dr. Duda's production style. While the song contains enough of a thump to get the party started, it features a more mellow vibe that would make it just as good to cool out to as well. "My Sugar" is currently available on iTunes.
