KING -- Bounce-Worthy since 2011 -- wowed us with a live performance of “Mister Chameleon” back in June and then teased us with a nice studio version weeks later. Now, DJ Stylus, aka “The Vibe Conductor,” has dropped his take on the future classic. “Mister Chameleon (Vibe Conductor Bump)” is another reason to be excited about the track from sisters Paris and Amber Strother, and their sister in soul Anita Bias.

The Washington, DC-based DJ, who refuses to stick in one genre, ups the tempo of the jazzy tune, adding the subtle, airy elements of bossa nova and exotic-rhythm percussion to spice up the track. But don’t expect a loud, blaring horn-filled jazz rager -- and this remix is even a few beats short of being a soulful house banger.

No, the focus here is still on the story told in the music, with DJ Stylus’ remix highlighting the metaphor-filled lyrics delivered in the smooth original by complementing them with a beat created by light handclaps. “Mister Chameleon” maintains its cool in Stylus’ hands, but also intrigues with its colorful melody.
