Anthony Hamilton's Home For The Holidays Tour was the hot ticket this November and December, and audiences agreed with many shows selling out along the way. The tour stop in Washington, DC at DAR Constitution Hall was another sell out crowd who came out to enjoy a night full of hot and soulful sounds on a chilly fall night.
After Mali Music and Leela James got everyone sufficiently warmed up, it was Anthony's time to kick things into high gear and he came out swinging. Backed by his superb background vocalists The HamilTones and The Extravaganza Band, lit up the stage like a Christmas tree with songs from Home for the Holidays. Hamilton didn't just sing yuletide tracks to get us in the holiday spirit, however. Interspersed throughout his set were his hits such as "Comin' From Where I'm From," "Charlene," "Can't Let Go" and "The Point Of It All." The biggest reactions from the attentive audience came when he performed "Cool" and the steppers' groove "Best Of Me," which made many couples take to the aisles to bust a smooth move.
Hamilton and his crew were a dapper sight to behold in their suits and bow ties. They looked good and sounded even better with heavenly harmonies and expert musicianship. One thing is for sure, when you attend an Anthony Hamilton concert you will get quite a show and leave entertained, invigorated and wanting more. I like to call that The Anthony Hamilton Effect and that was in full effect after this stellar concert in Washington, DC.
