With a hypnotic lower register that entrances upon first listen, Seinabo Sey's For Madeleine filled a musical void we didn't even realize existed. The Swedish chanteuse whet our appetites with early releases of "Younger" and "Hard Time," along with bold statement videos to accompany them. The understated "You," moving "River," and hip-hop inflections on "Hard Time (Alternative Version)" each impressively showcase additional sides of the multi-faceted singer. But the standout on this six-track EP is the arresting "Pistols at Dawn"...a musical and visual masterpiece. -- B. Cakes
