India Shawn and James Fauntleroy are finally sharing that collaborative project that we’ve heard about for the past year. The duo first linked up on Shawn’s Hit-Boy-assisted “All I Have” single in 2012 and then again on “Floating Away” last year, and now they are bringing all of that magic together for an EP that they are calling Outer Limits. To further prepare our hearts and minds for the beautiful music that is on the way, the duo have released the project’s lead single and title track this week.
Premiering the track with Billboard, these singer-songwriters are bringing the bass, the funk and the vocals in this simple dance number. The track begins with Fauntleroy asking if we’re ready, and we’re honestly not sure that we are. The only word to describe this 1500 or Nothin-produced track is magical. “I’m here to win / I’m getting in / So come here, baby,” Shawn and Fauntleroy sing together. With their impressive resumes and consistent track records of releasing quality music on their own, we already had high hopes for Outer Limits but this title track has intensified our feelings.
