Ivory: I feel you. What did you think about his older songs he performed? I absolutely adored hearing "One Mo Gin" with the tempo changes.

Paisley Sparks: I couldn't believe he could play that even slower than the record, but then when he sped it up as well? I was like, this dude is awesome. That was when he went into the crowd. (Sorry for mentioning that again!)

Ivory: LOL It's OK. I'll recover from my jealousy eventually. And the tempo changes were so seamless and fluid. Sometimes I thought we had moved onto another song altogether. I think I definitely want him to release a live album of this tour.

Paisley Sparks: You know, it's a long time since I've wanted a live album, but you're right on the money there. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Once he did “One Mo Gin,” it was like a non-stop funk jam extraordinaire. Song after song of fierce groove. It was exhausting!

Ivory: I was drenched in sweat by the end of it even though I had never left my seat. I felt like I was on stage with him.

Paisley Sparks: He didn't rest up. At all. Sure he popped off a couple of times for a change of clothes, but he was really quick and returned to keep things moving. Definitely no diva like behavior.

Ivory: At all. Over two and a half hours non-stop and when it was all over, I could've sat through two and a half hours more. OK, now's the hard part. What was your favorite performance of the night?

Paisley Sparks: Woah!! Talk about on the spot! You're not going easy on a new guy are you?

Ivory: LOL Not at all. We dive right in at SoulBounce. For me, I'd have to say "Untitled." As much as I thought I was tired of hearing that song, I absolutely loved that he ended the show with it and how the band slowly peeled off one-by-one, leaving him all alone with just the piano. I think it said a lot that he chose to end the show with the song that brought him so much torment, technically. It felt almost therapeutic in a way.

Paisley Sparks: This really is a tough ask. "The Charade" is such a powerful song; "Sugar Daddy" was as funky as expected; “Left & Right” was utterly stupendous and "Chicken Grease" was a million barrels of fish, chicken and any other grease you care to mention. But I'm with you on this one.

I will boil it down to a single perfect moment, though. I saw Miguel croon "Adorn" to 2000 women, I saw Maxwell sing "...Til The Cops Come Knockin,," but nothing will compare to the moment when the first note of "Untitled" hit the place. I have never heard a sound like that before. It was indescribable. Man, I was gone. You are right, though, for such a personally tricky song, he embraced it totally and reclaimed the power of the song rather than "that" video.

Ivory: I don't think I could have said it any better myself, Paisley. The crowd went mad. And I loved how quickly everyone quieted down so that we wouldn't miss a single note.

I think after your wonderful breakdown, there is nothing else to be said. Paisley, you have officially survived your first SoulBounce SoundTable!

Paisley Sparks: Whoop whoop!!! I'm alive!

Ivory: Now that wasn't so bad, was it? I'm pretty sure we had the easiest topic in SoundTable history. I could've talked forever about the D'Angelo experience

Paisley Sparks: Me too! Could talk for about three weeks. Having such a delightful companion helped.

Ivory: Awww, go on. No, really. Go on.

Paisley Sparks: LOL
