Songs with that Missy Magic: “Cherry Pop”
Olivia has a huge and storied history as an artist of shooting for the moon, but landing amongst the stars. After leaving J Records, the Love & Hip-Hop alum re-emerged in the mid-2000’s as part of 50 Cent’s G-Unit label. Unfortunately, despite being a successful featured artist on a number of hits, including 50’s song, “Candy Shop,” Olivia couldn’t quite gain traction in the market as a solo artist. The solution? Call up Missy.
Missy cooked up a throwback Vanity sound for Olivia, which could be heard in songs such as, “Cherry Pop.” While most of the songs produced during their studio sessions are pretty obscure, they did produce a rumor that the two were producing sweet music outside of the studio as lovers. Olivia claims 50 Cent started the rumors because he was jealous, and that she was producing better music with Missy than with the Unit. We’re not quite sure what happened, but we wish whoever is with whoever the best.
