It only makes sense to bring two G's together, and that's what happened Monday night when Warren G and Kenny G performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Jimmy Kimmel's month long "Mash Up Mondays" series has seen some great performances, and Warren and Kenny ended it on a high note by performing the 1994 classic "Regulate." Kenny started the performance by skillfully playing the signature synth melody on his soprano saxophone. It's not often we hear Kenny deliver a Warren G track, but for some reason it just makes sense. While Kenny keeps it soulful, Warren joins him on stage with his cool and effortless delivery of his rhyme, and with an assist from the late Nate Dogg on the track. Keep watching because Kenny gets fancy by freestyling a few runs on his saxophone, but he makes sure not to take over the track.
We're sad to see "Mash Up Mondays" end but glad that Warren and Kenny joined their funk and smooth jazz powers together, even for just one night. You can get more G-funk where that came from when Warren G launches his tour, The G-Funk Experience, which starts on March 7th in Vancouver and ends March 15th in California. If you don't get tickets you can still watch the jazzy rendition of the g-funk classic "Regulate" right here.
