Concertgoers packed the Howard Theatre in Washington, DC on the cold, last day of February 2015 to see a number of up-and-coming male R&B singers on the bill. While the opening acts warmed things up, this was Luke James' set on fire. Luke commanded the stage and sent female fans into a frenzy from the first note he sang to the last -- although those in attendance weren't just screaming about how good he sounded. Mr. James provided eye candy aplenty. He began the show dressed in a white dress shirt, black slacks and dark shades before he started unbuttoning and undressing a few songs in to reveal his sculpted, dark chocolate-covered physique clad in a black wifebeater. He was serving hot sex on a platter to the famished crowd.

Luke James performed a solid and thorough set that included tracks from his mixtapes and his stellar self-titled debut album, including "Strawberry Vapors," "I.O.U.," "Dancing in the Dark" and "Exit Wounds." Two tracks that got a huge crowd response were his GRAMMY-nominated songs "I Want You" and "Options," which somehow managed to sound even better live. But that's what Luke James does. He makes his music come alive on stage and proves time and time again that he's cut from a different cloth. Luke stands out for all the right reasons in a sea of studio singers who can barely lip sync while doing the latest acrobatic dance moves. He won't teach you how to dougie in concert, but Luke James will remind you what real R&B music sounds like coming from a real singer. Whenever and wherever he is performing live, make it a point to see Luke James in his element and you'll become a believer, too.
