Nile Rodgers & CHIC Were 'There' To Bring Disco To 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'

Nile Rodgers Chic Jimmy Kimmel Live

Classic '70s disco group CHIC is in the midst of a resurgence thanks to integral member Nile Rodgers. With the release of "I'll Be There,"  the band's first new single in over 20 years, and it's B-side "Back to the Old School," CHIC is once again burning up the charts and jamming in the ears of people around the world. Last night the group took the stage at Jimmy Kimmel Live! and showed the television audience why disco never really died.

Performing "I'll Be There," the band gave a disco workout that had the audience clapping and moving, though it was kind of obvious that the unfamiliarity with the song kept some standing and nodding their heads along to the groove. That wasn't true for their second showing, however. The group fired up oldie but goodie "Good Times" and got everyone in the audience into their rhythm. Nile even broke it all the way down and rapped a verse of Sugar Hill Gang's "Rapper's Delight" — which famously sampled CHIC's party-starter — before jumping back in the groove and, well, good times.

You can check out both clips right here. And be sure to get your bell-bottoms and gold lamé ready as CHIC is set to drop a new album this June.
