Luke James has been keeping it rather low key as of late. After dropping off his self-titled major label debut last fall along with more than a few videos, it seemed that the talented vocalist was content to let the music speak for itself. But just when we started to wonder where oh where had the R&B heartthrob gone, he pops up on syndicated talker The Real to deliver a live version of his single "Exit Wounds."

Sitting on the stage alone and dressed in all black, Luke sang the break-up ballad with arresting conviction. Like Ike and Tina Turner before him, he started the song nice and easy. With just a piano caressing his tender vocals, he communicated his pains while skillfully employing his undergarment-melting falsetto to good effect with the mostly-female audience. But then he got rough as the song turned up. Running out into the middle of the audience, he let the bass drop and the music pick up as he got everyone, including The Real co-hosts, hyped.

It was a pretty good performance that has us hoping that Mr. James will be popping up on our screens much more often. You can check it out when you press play.
