Mark de Clive-Lowe is a highly sought-after producer/composer/remixer/multi-instrumentalist/collaborator for good reason. The CHURCH architect is full of musical surprises and consistently enhances anything he puts his hands on. So it's no surprise that L.A.-based ensemble The Urban Renewal Project came calling when they commissioned remixes for several tracks from their 2014 release, Local Legend. The 12-piece band, known for incorporating various styles of music into their work, has been praised for their musical artistry and improvisation skills as well as their lively performances.

For his contribution to their Renewed & Remixed, Vol.1 project, Mark put his spin on "Make Like You Mean It," a jazzy Latin-flavored tune which features frequent URP collaborators Aubrey Logan and Elmer Demond. MdCL blesses the track with fluid piano and keys, an organic fit rather than a distraction. He also ups the tempo and splices a hypnotic bass line and rapid percussion with the original horn-fueled instrumentals, giving the track some bite. Demond's rap verse is removed, but Aubrey's spirited vocals remain, beckoning us to get up and move.

Check out the breezy original and the dance-inducing MdCL remix below. Afterwards, head over to iTunes where you can download both Local Legend and Renewed & Remixed, Vol. 1.
