French beatmaster Onra is on a mission to take you back to the '80s and '90s with his throwback sound. His latest opus, Fundamentals, is a celebration of the hip hop and R&B of yesteryear that borrows heavily from your favorites. His latest single, “Vibe With U,” features singer Suzi Analogue and finds him mining that old Uptown Records sound that Mary J. Blige and Jodeci made so famous and taking you back to a simpler time, sitting in your bedroom listening to slow jams on the radio. The video perfectly captures this mood literally and figuratively.

The video for “Vibe With U” is a straight throwback to the '90s and all those videos your favorite artists used to shoot around the way in their hood. From the start, the Matt Ferran and John Filmore-directed clip will transport you back to a time when BET and MTV used to actually play music videos. The clip opens with Suzi Analogue in her bedroom, talking on her brick phone and fantasizing about spending some alone time with that special someone who’s on her mind like all the time. There’s also the obligatory rooftop and nighttime scenes you might remember from your favorite old school videos. In addition, there are a number of '90s Easter eggs, including a Cross Colours hat, Tommy Hilfiger shirts, a Jodeci cassette tape and more.

While the video for “Vibe With U” leans a little heavy on its sparse use of '90s imagery, it’s still a charming clip worthy of this throwback jam.
