Last night Usher, Bibi Bourelly and Nas took the TIDAL X: 1020 concert by storm, performing their moving single  "Chains" for the first time. It's only been a few days since the single's release, so it only made sense for the trio to perform it on TIDAL's big night at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. Their performance was also recorded and rebroadcast on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Usher and Bibi sauntered on stage first, Usher in handcuffs and Bibi wearing a black hoodie to honor victims of racial profiling and police brutality. Singing the haunting lyrics to the song, the two performed with enough energy to incite a riot. After an impassioned moment of silence mid-performance, Nas took the stage dressed as Tommie Smith, the 1968 Olympic gold medalist known for the infamous Black Power fist, and mesmerized the audience with his poignant lyrics.

Sure to be the new anthem for the Black Lives Matter movement, the backdrop of the performance was images of chains, guns and people on their knees praying. The single honors the likes of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, Freddie Gray, Eric Garner and more unfortunately and proceeds from the sale of "Chains" will be donated to a donor-advised fund managed by social justice organization Sankofa.org. After the passionate performance, the trio left the stage lit of course, with the words "Chains" also on fire on the screen. You can still watch their video for "Chains" on SoulBounce — but only if you promise not to look away. Watch their TIDAL X: 1020 performance right here and let us know if Usher, Bibi and Nas could lead your movement.
