One of our favorite recent discoveries, the singer a l l i e, is anything but cold on her entrancing new track “Tundra.” The song comes from her brand new EP Moonlust, which was released November 25th. We've been eagerly waiting for her project to drop, especially since catching wind of her via her work with Illa J on his recently released album.

“Tundra” is a song about entering the wintery expanse of a relationship once the love is gone. While the content is a little sad, a l l i e is anything but remorseful on the track and has come to terms with the end of the romance. “Think our days are done / Trust me babe, I'm not the one,” she sings on the chorus. Her lover begs with her to give it one more try, but a l l i e isn't having it. Besides the well-written lyrics and seasonal imagery and metaphors of “Tundra,” a l l i e's voice is incredibly impressive. Her vocal range and warm, soulful tone are wholly enticing. Da-P, who produced the track, wove in beautiful harmonious key and synth work with some smooth bass lines. He did an admirable job of switching the beat up between the verses and choruses — the verses are smooth and ambient while the chorus is a lot more upbeat with an electronica/dance/house sound.

“Tundra” is a definitely a new SoulBounce favorite, and we're so glad to have a new EP from a l l i e to obsess over during the holiday season. Give “Tundra” a listen and check out Moonlust via a l l i e's SoundCloud.
