Abiah Enlightens Us On The Power Of 'Sorry'

Abiah-Sorry-Still

Whether familial, romantic, professional or friendly, navigating relationships can be tricky territory...especially when "somebody done somebody wrong." Whether you are the offender or the victim, we all know and understand the power of a genuine apology. And while simple in theory, sometimes "I'm sorry" can be the hardest words to say. Herein lies the inspiration behind gifted singer Abiah's latest release "Sorry." He further explains, "One of the biggest changes in my life has been marriage. One of the greatest lessons I'm learning is the humility of sorry."

Abiah opts for the sparse but lovely accompaniment of beautiful keys and airy background harmonies, giving the ballad an acoustic quality that matches the genuineness felt throughout the song. His falsetto weaves through the simple, yet thoughtful lyrics with tender clarity. Instead of evoking feelings of guilt, the reflective lyrics inspire us to seek restoration, reminding us that, "We all make mistakes / A simple word can take its place / We don't have time to waste." The point is further underscored through the minimalistic visuals as "sorry" flashes on screen in various foreign translations while Abiah sings.

Watch and share the poignant message below, then head to iTunes for your own copy of "Sorry." Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until next spring for the release of Abiah's new album Bottles, but in the meantime, scroll down to preview another stellar track from the upcoming album -- a heartrending cover of Beyoncé's "Crazy in Love" recorded for NYCROPHONE's Acoustic Gold Sessions. Keep up with Abiah via his website and be sure to check out his previous offerings Chasing Forever and Life as a Ballad as well.
