NBC’s much anticipated reboot of the Broadway production turned cult classic film The Wiz is just a few short weeks away, and to help us get in the spirit of what is to come they’re giving us a bit of exclusive rehearsal footage to fawn over. Stephanie Mills, the original Dorothy, and Shanice Williams, the new budding actress playing Dorothy this time around, have joined forces to sing the big ballad “Home” and it is quite a beautiful sight and sound to behold. Both Mills and Williams take their sweet time singing about what home means to Dorothy. Not only do they sound beautiful, but also it is even more beautiful to witness them encouraging each other as the other one takes the lead.
Along with Williams playing Dorothy and Mills now taking on the role of Auntie Em, this reproduction also includes the likes of Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige, Ne-Yo, Common, Uzo Aduba and Amber Riley starring as our favorite characters. Get into this beautiful duet version of “Home,” and join us in waiting for the telecast debut of this promising showing on December 3rd.
