Janelle Monáe and The Wondaland Crew kept it 100 all year long. The "clatchet" clique teamed up with Toyota to give fans across the country a free tour, Roman GianArthur released a free.99 mixtape, Jidenna created the song of the summer with "Classic Man" and the rest of the clique, including Deep Cotton and St. Beauty, showed up and showed out wherever their tour bus roamed. In addition to stunning performances, the crew also engaged in some good old fashioned activism at each stop on their tour, using their voices and their platform to bring awareness to social issues and power to the people. While we aren't always sure about the crew and their movement from their interviews, we rode with them on GP. Now look at them. Their EP The Eephus is named after a baseball term referring to a curve ball and the Wondaland Records Crew certainly gave us just that.
