Floetry

Last year a miraculous thing happened: our favorite Floacist and Songstress duo Floetry reunited. While we loved and supported Marsha Ambrosius and Natalie Stewart as solo artists, we also not-so-quietly hoped the two could work through their differences to produce new music together. The yin to each other’s yang, the magic that was created when their powers combined was undeniable. That chemistry was front and center during their reunion tour, where the dynamic duo traded verses and enthralled crowds just like old times.

Now that a year has passed, it’s time for Floetry to do more than rest on the laurels of their former glory and give us some new music. Ambrosius and Stewart have announced via their Instagram accounts (everyone’s favorite PR channel) that we can expect to #GoWiththeFloIn2016. Of course, we’re wondering what kind of music these talented women might craft after eight years apart, given time, circumstances and lessons learned. Will it compare to the albums of the past, will it be a blend of the vastly different sounds the two cultivated as solo artists or will they give us something beyond our wildest expectations? Whatever the final result will be is anyone’s guess, but we’re happy that 2016 will be the year we finally get our answer. -- Ken Hamm
