With a title like "Soul Bounce," we were naturally fans of Collective Peace's song before we even heard it. But then we did listen to the song and honestly loved everything about it. Vocalists Amp Fiddler and CP's Ideeyah sang about soul mates via honest, heartfelt lyrics that rode the lively mid-tempo beat provided by the group's gumbo of keys, percussion and horns.
The Detroit outfit's live instrumentation and blend of soul, R&B, funk and jazz was heard on "Soul Bounce," and we were hard-pressed to sit still whenever we heard this jam. This song served as our unofficial theme music for most of 2015, but we suspect we'll have more songs to groove to when their debut album, Introducing Collective Peace, is released hopefully in early 2016. -- Butta
