Butta: Oop! For sure.

I also wish that Big Freedia had made a cameo while we’re at it. Of course Messy Mya can’t. *pours likka out*

D-Money: Yeah, Freedia and her twerk team would’ve been great additions. But Bey’s dancers, who were on their drum majorette tip, made it work. They worked it in a hallway, an empty swimming pool, a swap meet parking lot. Those ladies were on it!

Butta: Oh yes, those dancers got in formation dammit. Natural hair (or at least natural hair wigs, weaves and pieces) and #BlackGirlMagic aplenty. Which is yet another reason why this imagery was so striking and timely.

D-Money: The only thing I didn’t like was Bey giving the finger when she’s dropping the F-bomb. We get it, Bey. You curse now. Welcome to what most folks have been doing since the 5th grade. Sheesh.

Butta: Haha Well, there’s always the edited version.

D-Money: True. But that would be hella corny. LOL. Damned if she does, damned if she don’t, I guess.

Butta: Ah, the life of Beyoncé.

So not only does she hear all of the gossip about her family, but she’s also heard all the “What does Beyoncé do for Black people?” talk, too, and made some stark statements alongside director Melina Matsoukas with this visual about Hurricane Katrina, police brutality, Black Lives Matter...Come through, Beyoncé!

D-Money: She’s addressing police brutality something serious. That kid dancing as the line of police in full riot gear watch and put their hands up is kinda powerful. The best image is her on top of the New Orleans police car as it sinks in the flood, though.

Butta: The police car getting submerged and Beyoncé seemingly drowning along with it was deep.
