There were plenty of incredible performances to be found at BET's Celebration Of Gospel 2016, but one of the most amazing (besides the all-star tribute to the late Andraé Crouch) was from none other than gospel diva Yolanda Adams. Having recently graced the stage of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with a surprising and rousing performance of her 2005 hit "Victory," she dug back into her own catalog of inspirational classics and pulled out a winning selection with "In the Midst of it All," from her 1999 album Mountain High...Valley Low.
Flanked by background singers on both sides of the stage, Adams took center stage and had everyone's attention when she opened her mouth and her anointed voice came out as clear as it does on her records. She had audience members to their feet in no time either holding their hands to the sky in praise or singing along to every word. Soon another voice chimed in when Yolanda brought Tank out from the wings. Despite the R&B singer just releasing his very secular album Sex Love & Pain II, he put on his church clothes and joined Yolanda in testifying about God's greatness through song.
Yolanda and Tank effectively turned Los Angeles' Orpheum Theatre into a house of worship and blessed all under the sound of their voices, including viewers at home. Prepare your heart and mind to watch these two perform "In the Midst of it All" and find the nearest collection plate to make an offering.
