Fantasia has made 2016 her own with new music, an upcoming album and a much anticipated joint tour with Anthony Hamilton. The songstress is living life like it's golden and so are her vocals, which continue to give us goosebumps whether she's belting out a tribute to Patti LaBelle or singing the acoustic version of her single "No Time For It." And she's just warming up.
In her latest offering, Fantasia delivers a country-fried ballad, "Ugly," that tells a story about disappointment, growth and triumph. "Picket fence, two-car garage and a man that she don't love / But he makes six figures / And she thought he'd fix her," she laments. With a guitar and keys playing assist, you'll get lost in Fantasia's country twang and harmonious storytelling as the song takes a positive turn at the end.
Based on this track alone, we're pretty sure Fantasia can go toe-to-toe with any of the country music greats, and we wouldn't be mad if she tried. We'll just wait to see what other surprises she has on her new album, The Definition Of…. We're going to grab our front row seats now so we can truly experience the magic Tasia brings in every song and performance. If you're a little impatient, you can catch her performing "Ugly" tonight during the grand finale of American Idol. Before it airs, listen to Fantasia's beautiful new ballad "Ugly" right here and cop it on iTunes when you're done listening.
