Yuna continues to work her way into the mainstream's consciousness with her latest effort, Chapters. After landing high profile collaborations and features with the likes of DJ Premier and Usher, there was nothing for the rising star to do but rise even higher. She took another step in the right direction with an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers this week to perform her Chapters track "Used To Love You."
While the somber song about heartbreak might not have been the liveliest choice for late night television, Yuna made sure that her performance of the song would be a memorable one. For one, the Malaysian singer-songwriter looked stunning in a burgundy silk jumpsuit, black long-sleeved top and matching headwrap. Secondly, she sounded absolutely amazing, belting the song with a vocal that went from soft and quiet to big and powerful by song's end. She did it all while backed by a three-piece band and a string section, highlighting the drama of the song without eclipsing her brilliant performance.
Though Seth's program airs well past midnight, we're sure those that managed to stay up got a performance worth the lack of sleep. But if you happen to still be sleeping on Yuna, then we'd suggest you check out her showing on Late Night and get hip.
