The last time we heard from Bay Area singer/producer/songwriter 1-O.A.K., he was making it "Rain" on his reworked version of SWV's classic. Now he's back and finally blessing us with an oh-so-smooth song of his own with "It Ain't Nothing."
Teaming up with his Honor Roll cohort Trackademicks, 1-O.A.K. finds himself captivated by a new lady. He makes a convincing case for himself on this breezy song as he eschews kicking it with his friends in order to spend some quality time with his new boo. For his part, Trackademicks crafts a languid tune that perfectly encapsulates the heady possibilities of new love. While both artists clearly have a knack for putting their own flavor on classic songs, "It Ain't Nothing" reiterates they're even better on their own material.
On top of being dope, "It Ain't Nothing" is available for free download, so be sure to add this to your musical stash. Up next for the crew is Favor, a mixtape Trackademicks is putting the finishing touches on with newcomer Illa, which is due out this fall.
