Jamie Lidell is still a month away from dropping his seventh (and "best everr") studio album, Building A Beginning, but he's already luring us with an aural trail of dopeness that we can't ignore. We got a double dose of lead single "Walk Right Back" thanks to a lyric video debut and cool remix from BASECAMP. Now he brings us another preview with title track "Building A Beginning."

The song is a throwback groove brimming with psychedelic soul and downtempo funk. You'll hear echoes of Al Green in Lidell's vocals – which are imbued with both seductive intrigue and genuine affection – but he never sounds like an imitation. To further captivate us, he once again taps Shannen Bamford to create a simple but engaging lyric video. The curvy font and the grainy home video appeal of the background scenes enhance the warm, nostalgic vibe of the song.

Check out the title track below and head to iTunes to pre-order Building A Beginning (with instant downloads of the two current singles) ahead of its October 14th debut. Jamie Lidell has a handful of U.S. shows this month, but after the album's release, he'll be touring the UK and select European locations. Joining him on stage is his ridiculously talented band The Royal Pharoahs -- Gerald Jenkins, Owen Biddle, Daru Jones, Marcus Machado, Brandon Newsome, Marion Ross III and Shonka Dukureh -- whom you can glimpse in action below. Keep up with Jamie via social media and be sure to check his website for album updates, tour details and ticket purchasing.
