Kehlani's roller coaster year is still chugging along, with the songstress having experienced several ups and downs throughout the course of 2016. However, it seems she's ending the year on a definite upswing. Not only is she gearing up to finally release her official debut, SSS, sometime in the new year, but she's been dropping quite a few singles in the past few months — including "Table," "CRZY" and "Distraction." Now she's delivering a crazy, sexy, cool new video for "Distraction" that's sure to catch a few eyes.
For the video, Kehlani uses a time-honored tradition utilized by the likes of Lil Kim and Destiny's Child as she moves between different scenes as she and her dancers color-coordinate their outfits to the backdrop. They start off rocking icy white 'fits as Kehlani smokes a blunt while delivering the first verse and catches her love interest's eye. Then they move to a cool blue set where she and her video lover get a little handsy with the choreo, including a few gratuitous ass-grabs. However, things really heat up when the color switches to red. That's when Kehlani, now rocking long, dark hair and a red bra and panty set — and not much else — slides between red satin sheets with her boy toy. For the visual's close, Kehlani gets happy-go-lucky in vibrant yellow as she and the curly-haired fella dance and bop around with big bright smiles on their faces.
While it's not exactly reinventing the wheel, the video for "Distraction" is definitely fun to watch. Check it out for yourself below.
