Nick Cannon has another track for you to simmer on before his mixtape The Gospel Of Ike Turn Up: My Side Of The Story drops this afternoon. With vocal help from songstress K. Michelle, Nick delivers his latest track "Baby On The Way." The mid-tempo single is like an urban telenovela as Nick and K. Michelle talk about their unplanned pregnancy and how their exes would react.
The lyrics suggest it's not the best timing but their love is real. "Uh oh, what we gon' do? / My baby mama don't know about you / But I love you, I love you / Ever since we met in 2002," sings Nick in the background. The entire song is basic and not entirely a jam you want to groove to because, honestly, it's just stressful to think about. We can only hope that it's a tale of caution, especially as you all Netflix and chill your way through the winter.
The single also sounds like it was an impromptu recording but may also be a reflection of Mr. Cannon's current situation. There are rumors that his ex-girlfriend Brittany Bell, an actress and former Miss Arizona USA, is expecting his child despite other rumors he's dating TLC's Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, who appeared in his last video for "If I Was Your Man." It seems like Nick has a lot going on, but it's also fodder for the release of his mixtape today at 2:16 p.m. ET / 1:16 p.m. CT. If you like what you're hearing, you'll be able to download it from Live Mixtapes this afternoon. Until then, listen to Nick and K. Michelle talk about their imaginary family when you press play below.
