Jamiroquai Delivers A Stylish Visual For 'Cloud 9'

Jamiroquai Cloud 9 StillWe can hardly wait to hear what the fellas of Jamiroquai have up their sleeves for their upcoming album Automaton. But wait we must, as the set isn't scheduled to arrive until late March. However, they've been keeping us entertained by dropping new music and visuals. We've already seen their vision of the future with "Automaton," and now they give us a sleek, stylish look for their disco-funk single "Cloud 9" that has a classic yet modern feel.

Instead of going with a trippy, eye-popping visuals that usually come with the group's most beloved clips (thinking the moving furniture of "Virtual Insanity," the disco fantasy of "Little L" or the altogether oddness of "Feels Just Like It Should"), Jamiroquai and director Charlie Lightening, decide to pay homage to another one of their clips, "Cosmic Girl." This time around, however, Jay Kay is the sole band member featured. He's pushing a pricey whip on a strip of Spanish road as he seems to be racing a seductive beauty (played by Monica Cruz, sister to famed actress Penelope) in a Benz droptop. Intercut with the scenes of racing are clips of Jay Kay and Monica in a neon-lit bar as they cut a rug to the funky jam, with Jay Kay utilizing some of the moves that've made him a joy to watch since the "Space Cowboy" days.

While the clip doesn't exactly follow the story of the song, it definitely gives us a peek into what we can expect from the crew as they continue to promote the project. Peep the visual below and be on the lookout for Jamiroquai's Automaton, which will arrive on March 31st.
