When it comes to his new relationship, Joe is in it for the long haul on the song "Lean Into It." The latest single from his album #MYNAMEISJOETHOMAS has the R&B crooner singing about his 12-week-old love affair, and he's all in. He's not trying to let her go and wants to lock her down for life. Now he's just got to convince her. As sweetly as he sings on "Lean Into It," though, that doesn't take much effort.
In the video for "Lean Into It," we see that the object of Joe's affection and attention is as smitten as he is. The video opens with him returning home from his day out, and his leading lady, played by actress Denise Boutte, is enjoying a cup of cappuccino while his classic "I Wanna Know" plays in the background. By the time he hits the door, she's changed into a stunning mini-dress to greet him. All he can say is, "Wow. Wow. Wow," as he wonders what the occasion is and if he needs to get dressed for a surprise night out. They're having a romantic night in, however, and start slow dancing to his new groove.
There's a lot of chemistry between Ms. Boutte and Mr. Thomas; you'd almost think they were a real-life couple. Joe flexes his grown man swag with three outfit changes throughout the clip. Directed by Plaid Wayne, who was also behind the camera for the "So I Can Have You Back" visuals, the video for "Lean Into It" is a classy and sexy interpretation of the song. The video doesn't end with "To be continued," but we wouldn't be mad to see these two reprise their lovebird roles in the future for another music video from #MYNAMEISJOETHOMAS. Until we see if that happens, get into "Lean Into It" and all this Black love right now.
