Spotify Hits 50 Million subscribers
The streaming wars have been heating up as of late, with a new service seeming to pop up every other month. However, it seems as though Spotify remains the biggest player to beat as they've just announced that they've reached 50 million paid subscribers, increasing their base of paying users by an impressive 10 million since September of last year. Still, while that number is definitely reason to pop champagne and floss on the competition, it does still come with one major caveat: the company has yet to turn a profit. Numbers from 2015, the most recent available, it was shown that the streaming giant had a $200 million loss on a $2.2 billion profit. Sheesh. That being said, 50 million subscribers ain't nothing to sneeze at and could be a sign of more profitable days to come. #NumberOneStreamer
