Master P's Biopic Set To Shoot This Summer With Some Major Star Power

Aside from being an amazing album that celebrated blackness, Solange's A Seat At The Table also reminded us that Master P's got one hell of a story. That story will be getting the big screen treatment soon, as production on his biopic, King Of The South, is set to go underway this summer. The film, which will show everything from his upbringing in New Orleans' Calliope Projects to him hustling his way to becoming the founder of independent hip-hop heavy-hitter No Limit Records, has also landed some major star power with the addition of The Wire actor Wendell Pierce and her royal dopeness Queen Latifah to the cast in unspecified roles. "The timing is right for me to tell my story," Master P said in a press release. "It was tough back then especially being from the South, New Orleans was the murder capital at the time. I want others to learn from my mistakes and understand my work ethic of never giving up, no matter what it may look like." No word on when the film will be released (or if it will hopefully be titled Make 'Em Say Uhhhhh!), but we'll definitely be on time for that. #BoutItBoutIt
