With the rush of new music that's been arriving this year, we wouldn't blame you if you forgot that Cody ChesnuTT has new music coming as well. Don't worry, we're here to remind you. Cody's third full-length effort, My Love Divine Degree, is just a couple short weeks away from dropping. We've already gotten two tracks, "I Stay Ready" and "Bullets In Streets and Blood," which arrived in the latter part of last year. This month, he's giving us one last listen with the latest drop, "Image of Love."
Cody is back to his rock-funk-soul fusion roots for the song. He laces the track with quick-paced drums, squelchy synth bass and rhythm guitar. It all works together as Cody delivers a message about love and its unique power to guide mankind. "The image of love / Is so much greater than the image of a fool / In the eyes of a population who's / Looking to conquer all the bigger issues," he sings on the track. Though that reads a bit preachy in text, Cody has a way of making his message sound like music to our ears.
That's something we can probably expect from My Love Divine Degree. "Bullets In The Streets and Blood" is a politically charged anthem about police brutality, while "I Stay Ready" is all about the good time groove.
