GoldLink is on fire right now, with his album At What Cost enjoying a permanent place in our rotation since its March release. The track that has admittedly gotten the most burn has been the Kaytranada-produced jam "Meditation" featuring a sweet vocal assist from Jazmine Sullivan. Now the song gets even more life with the drop of the official music video. When the trio released the track, they created an "animated audio visual" to go along with it, but now we can watch the crew get down in the club. Directed by Christine Yuan, the concept of the video could easily be described as a mix between Saturday Night Fever and The Get Down.
The video begins with GoldLink rolling up to the hot spot, dapping up his boys and quickly setting eyes on his muse. The only problem is homegirl is taken, and here's where the video gets interesting. We later catch Jazmine and her posse checking their fly in the bathroom mirror as she sings the hook of the song. They supply cute choreography as Jazmine shows off her new hairdo, and then we get key shots of party goers showing off their Afrocentric style. It's a vibe. So much so that we even catch Ray J in the mix, getting his hair done in the middle of the party. Keep watching to see what happens in the action-packed video, which ends in a lot of drama.
In other GoldLink news, he most recently released a remix to "Crew" with Gucci Mane, Shy Glizzy and Brent Faiyaz. It was so good, he finessed it into a Crew Remix EP featuring remixes from Lido, Backyard Band, New Impressionz and Richie Souf. The DMV emcee is taking his jams on the road on the At What Cost Tour in the fall.
