Miguel Helps 'The Late Show' Stay Up With 'Sky Walker' & 'Come Through And Chill'

Miguel is ready to make his return after dropping hints of a comeback for a few months. If him dropping his single "Skywalker" and its video, as well as "Shockandawe," wasn't any indication, him hitting the late night circuit certainly is. The singer did just that last night when he made an appearance as the musical guest on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

For the main show, Miguel went with "Sky Walker," of course. The diminutive singer-songwriter stripped down the track for an almost acoustic performance. The switch-up captures the beachy, California vibes of the song perfectly (and also makes us wonder why the original didn't sound a bit closer to this). The new take (which was also, thankfully, Travis Scott free) also allowed us to appreciate the song's musicality, with Miguel and crew adding more dimension to the song with chord progressions that allow his voice room to actually find interesting things to do within the song's structure. He also provided a web-exclusive performance of "Come Through And Chill" for The Late Show. The track, which was previously thought to be just a loosie, was recreated in all of its lustful glory. As we already know, our boy Miguel is skilled at creating a bedroom jam, and this performance reaffirmed that he can also bring that vibe to the stage. He flirted with both the camera and the audience as he performed (though the audience was awfully dry during the call-and-response portion), making the chorus' invitation all the more inviting.

While introducing Miguel, host Stephen Colbert made mention that Miguel's upcoming album would be called War And Leisure, which is the first we're hearing of this title. Maybe an official release date will soon follow? We'll definitely keep you posted on that front. In the meantime, enjoy his Late Show performances below.
