112 & Jagged Edge Are In Perfect Harmony On 'Both Of Us'

Q. Parker, Michael Keith, Slim and Daron Jones, collectively known as R&B hitmakers 112, continue to keep fans on the edge of their seats in anticipation of their long-awaited new album, Q Mike Slim Daron. Following the release of two singles from the project, including the deliciously naughty "Strawberry" and the poignant ballad "Dangerous Games," the Atlanta quartet stoke the fire burning in anxious fans a bit more with their latest single “Both Of Us.” The GRAMMY-winning group not only takes it back to the bones of true R&B, they collaborate for the first time ever with another one of ATL’s finest groups, Jagged Edge. The result is full of spine-tingling harmony, passionate lyrics and just good sangin’.

While the track itself sounds more J.E. Heartbreak than Room 112, the respective personalities of each group are not lost. Jagged Edge provides the raw emotion, and 112 settles in to smooth things out a bit without dampening the intensity of the sentiment. The two platinum-selling groups sing about their love of the business but are sure to let their loved ones know why they continue to put in work. They declare, “I’m doing this for both of us / Baby, all the different shows, baby, out on this road / I’m doing this for both of us / Girl, you know I love my fans, but this job can be demanding.” There's even a spiritual element to the song with the bible verse Mark 8:36 ("For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?") interpolated into the lyrics. This latest single is an honest, grown man, seasoned entertainer account of the tolls that the music business can take on one’s personal relationships, as well the sacrifices made by all involved.

Give 112’s “Both of Us” featuring Jagged Edge a spin, and let it not only serve as a reminder of what’s truly important in life but also how good these two groups still sound. We won't have to wait much longer for more from 112 with Q Mike Slim Daron hitting stores on Friday, October 27th via eOne Music.  The album is available for pre-order from your choice of digital retailers.
