Jessie J Preaches Self-Acceptance & Love With 'Queen'

Jessie J has been on one as of late, dropping single after single in advance of her upcoming album R.O.S.E. And it seems Miss Jessie was just getting started as she's gone a dropped yet another single with the motivational track "Queen."

On the track, Jessie once again shirks the pop trappings we'd come to associate with her (thanks in part to production from DJ Camper, whom she's teamed up with exclusively for this project). He laces her something lovely with a head-nod-worthy beat that also allows a bit of room for introspection. As the drums knock like a classic hip-hop beat, synths provide the melody and atmosphere. Jessie J uses that to her advantage as she uses her voice and her pen game to address the ladies and show them their worth. "Stop playing with your body, lady / Stop feeling that you're not enough," she opens. "Stop feeding into the haters /Stop and give yourself some love." And the love doesn't just stop there, with the quiet but powerful chorus of the song resounding loud and proud as she sings, “I love my body / I love my skin / I am a goddess / I am a queen.”

"This is more than another song for me, it’s bigger than me," Jessie wrote while introducing the song on Facebook. "It’s a feeling, a movement, and a mantra. Words I want EVERY woman to sing and FEEL. We are ALL QUEENS!"
