NxWorries Smoothes Out 'Suede' With An 'Uptwnmixx'

2017 has been a good year for music and this fall has yielded a bumper crop of new releases. One that we're heavily anticipating is the upcoming NxWorries remix project. They teased us for months with its arrival and finally threw us a bone last month with the full version of their "Best One" remix. Now with the set's arrival just about here, the duo gives us another listen with the "Uptwnmixx" of their funky smooth track "Suede."

The original version of "Suede" found our boy Anderson .Paak riffing off a sample of Gil Scott-Herron's "The Bottle" (flipped and chopped to perfection by Knxwledge, of course). This new take smoothes out "Suede" even further. The looped sample is replaced with languid, jazzy guitar with a hint of strings, taking the groove from a downtown get down to something fit for the get right of an uptown Saturday night. Of course, they didn't dare change AP's verses. His breakneck verses stay intact, creating a nice tension between the mellow mood of the arrangement and his gritty delivery and lyrics. In fact, the only detractor here is the fact that it all ends a bit prematurely, clocking in at just over two minutes long. But we guess that's what the repeat button is for, right?

Check out NxWorries' "Suede (Uptwnmixx)" below and be ready to cop Yes Lawd! Remixes when the entire set drops this Friday, November 17th.
