Singer/songwriter Shaliek has love on his mind and it’s made crystal clear in his new video. For his single “My Love,” which was released this past summer, the accompanying visual elicits all the feels of bliss and passion associated with true love and romance. Set in a picturesque countryside complete with a cascading waterfall, the Chris Lear-directed video captures love in a most organic way. No dramatic story-lines, no abstract symbolism, we just watch as Shaliek meets his lover and serenades her while the two share special moments together. The song itself conveys this sentiment as well with its old-school feel and lyrics like, “Every day my praises go up / Cause I know you’re a blessing that came down / The future’s looking bright for us / Promise me you’ll stay around / Only wanna give you my love.”
“My Love” is the first single from the Bronx-born crooner’s upcoming album entitled Rooted. This his second release, following his 2014 debut, Blood Sweat and Tears. Both projects have been a long time coming for the gifted vocalist and songwriter. He was briefly signed to Universal, during which time he released the single “Get To Know Ya” featuring Juvenile, and he collaborated with legendary artists and producers such as Alicia Keys, Rockwilder, Brian Michael Cox, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Following his departure from the label, he teamed up with Cashus C.R.E.A.M. and Derrick Thompson (former VP of Sony BMG) and formed the renowned songwriting team, The Hitterzz. The talented trio are responsible for hits from Day26, Jordan Knight and many others. Shaliek eventually signed a solo deal with his current label Pendulum, and though he’s no rookie in the music game, it seems he’s back with new energy and is ready to take the R&B game by storm.
