Miguel Hits VEVO Off With 'Pineapple Skies' & 'Sky Walker' & Hits 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' Stage

Miguel's fourth album, War & Leisure, is out and the Californian singer/songwriter is lighting up the promo trail like nobody's business. We just reported on his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (not to mention his appearance on The Late Show earlier this year). Now it seems like the "Come Through And Chill" singer is knocking down promotional appearances like dominoes, delivering a two-fer by hitting up the studios at VEVO to perform live renditions of "Pineapple Skies" and "Sky Walker" and then hitting Jimmy Kimmel Live for yet another performance of "Sky Walker" with the cut's featured guest Travis $cott.

First up, Miguel taped the VEVO sessions to give fans a taste of what to expect on his War & Leisure Tour this coming February. He performed both tracks with minimal setup, with just him and the band on a soundstage. However, it was all he really needed to convey the feel-good rock 'n' soul of "Pineapple Skies" as he cut a few moves in his black patent leather pants while gripping his signature white-fringed mic stand. The same can be said of his performance of "Sky Walker," though this version started off just a bit more ominous with waves of minor chord synths eventually giving way to the song's chill groove. Miguel donned sunglasses for the entirety of the song's performance, we guess because he wanted to look even more chill than the song's fun-loving lyrics imply.

His appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live was anything but chill though. After being introduced by interim host Tracee Ellis Ross, Mr. Pimentel practically lept out at the crowd. Perhaps he was amped up by the crowd or imbued with energy from Travis $cott joining him on stage, but he jumped, hopped and bounced across the stage like he was performing a much more uptempo number. Either way, the vibe seemed to work for the audience, who screamed and threw their hands in the air like they just didn't care.
