Big Shiz Sings God's Praises With 'Again Love'

We forgive you if you're not entirely familiar with inspirational artist Big ShizHowever, you've definitely heard his work. Shiz is the alter ego of songwriter and arranger Lashawn Daniels, who has had his hands in hits for over 20 years now. A few tracks that feature his stamp? Whitney Houston's "It's Not Right (But It's Okay)," Destiny Child's "Say My Name" and Tamar Braxton's "Love and War." Not to mention, he was also featured on Erica Campbell's trap gospel jam "I Luh God." Now, Big Shiz is breaking out on his own, readying his upcoming EP The Big Shiz Project. Our first introduction to the set is lead single "Again Love," the video for which he fittingly premiered with BET on Valentine's Day.

"Again Love" is a love song, but it's not about the romantic kind of love." "'Again Love' for me is about the love of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. No matter what we go through, he is prepared to love us again and again,” he told Rolling Out. That sentiment is reflected in the song, though it's not your mama's gospel. Instead, he laces it with a modern R&B sound that picks up on the slightly island-tinged trend going on right now. Lyrically, he's giving all glory to his Lord and Savior, singing at one point, "I can commit my life / 'Cause Christ is the one that gives me more / He's just one prayer away." For the video, Shiz keeps things simple, with the camera capturing him performing the song alone in various places. Whether he's walking alone in a desert or lounging in what appears to be a tastefully decorated loft, he keeps the focus on his message and gives God all the glory.

"Again Love" is available for purchase now at digital retailers and you can check out the song's video right here.
