Alicia Keys Teams Up With Fox Searchlight For Alvin Ailey Biopic
Alvin Ailey was a visionary artist and dancer whose story deserves to be known. Now, thanks to Alicia Keys, it will be. The "No One" singer has signed on to be one of the producers for an upcoming biopic on Mr. Ailey for Fox Searchlight. The film, which is backed by the Ailey organization, will be based on the Jennifer Dunning biography Alvin Ailey: A Life In Dance. “We are thrilled to be working with these incredible partners to bring to the screen the amazing journey and revolutionary choreography of Alvin Ailey, whose life and legacy profoundly impacted people of all backgrounds around the world,” said artistic director Robert Battle, who will be consulting with the filmmakers as the movie is developed. #TellingOurStories
