We were already kinda feeling Khalid and Normani Kordei's Love, Simon soundtrack contribution "Love Lies" when we first heard it. In fact, we just knew that it would be dope to see the two come together to perform the track live. We're pretty glad to say we were right, as the twosome got together in NYC to perform the song for the audience of late-night staple The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and lit up the stage with their chemistry.
Khalid, dressed in all black, started out the performance while comfortably sitting in a chair as the stage was lit — quite literally so thanks to some glowing neon lights. Khalid's intro was fairly decent, with the 20-year-old crooner delivering what fans have come to expect. However, it was when the former Fifth Harmony member stepped on stage in a form-fitting, all-white ensemble that things really started to heat up. She moved across the stage like a woman possessed, making her way to Khalid while singing her heart out. From there, the two vibed out with each other until the performance's very end, when the lights went down, framing their silhouettes against the pale yellow glow of the sun-like light in the backdrop.
With Normani looking to establish her star outside of her Fifth Harmony tenure and Khalid about due for a sophomore album, this performance was definitely a good look for both. Check it out below and let us know what you think.
