En Vogue Wants The Finer 'Thangz' In Life

Two whole years after they first teased us with "Déjà Vu," iconic R&B group En Vogue finally released their long-awaited seventh album Electric Café last month. But if you thought the funky divas were done giving us new music this year, think again. The trio just dropped a boppable ode to consumerism entitled "Luv My Thangz." Unlike "I'm Good," "Have a Seat" and "Rocket," this new single didn't make the final cut for the Electric Café tracklist. But that doesn't necessarily mean that it's not worth a listen.

On one hand, the track seems a tad sophomoric for these grown and sexy divas – from the slang-ish spelling of the title to the superficial theme. But honestly, the lyrics are probably more relatable than we care to admit to ourselves. "It's not what I need, but I want, so I buy it. (Just take it back if you don't like it.)," they candidly sing. Where is the lie? Check your bank and/or credit card statements...we've all been there. Besides, whether or not you agree with the subject matter, there's no denying that it's a fun groove and the ladies sound amazing as always.

With almost fifteen years between their previous album and their latest release, you can imagine they've got a vault full of unreleased tracks, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that more leaks will be sprinkled throughout the year. For now, head to your favorite digital retailer and treat yo'self to a download of "Luv My Thangz." For fans that wanna keep spending that cash, visit En Vogue's website to purchase tickets for their current tour. If you can't afford to see them in person, be sure to tune in to the 2018 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 20th to see them perform with Salt-N-Pepa.
